With reference to your Despatch No. 257 of the

2nd. October, 1915, I have the bonour to inform you that Mr. Allan

Dayes who was employed as Master of the Government Dredger "St.

Enoch" was accidentally dromed whilst bathing on the 10th, July,

1915.

Mr. A. A. H. Milroy the Shipping Master wrote

sending a full account of the occurrence to Mr. John Dayes on the 4th. October informing him that his son's money and effects had

been forwarded to the Board of Trade, Whitehall, London, and

requesting him to apply there.
